About Us
Shield-Bearer is a unique nonprofit founded in the movement to improve the health of relationships within families, organizations and communities. As a Cy Fair born charity, most of the professional counseling services have been provided to communities in NW Houston, including Tomball, Magnolia, Hempstead, Cypress, Houston Spring, Klein and The Woodlands. Shield-Bearer’s community and church based programs and services have reached into 12 Texas counties. The team of relationship experts regularly speaks at national conferences throughout the United States.
Shield-Bearer not only provides excellent and ethical services and programs, but healthy relationships, strong marriages, healthy families and strong communities through community advocacy and social marketing. Those who join us in the Fight For Hearts are helping us to
- Prevent dating violence through Dating Violence Prevention for over 8,000 high school students last school year.
- Improve relationships of engaged and married couples through thirty six marriage seminars, workshops and retreats.
- Reduce teen pregnancy through our groundbreaking work with over 200 at risk teens in the Teen Dating Relationship Education program.
- Improve the academic and social outcomes for students of over 1200 fathers served last school year.
- Provide counseling for 184 individuals, couples and families who would otherwise have not received professional counseling services in 2008 due to their financial situation and lack of insurance coverage.
